Logging into Genius

Students and guardians will be able to log in, add/change/drop courses (be sure to check the Academic Calendar to verify the deadline), check enrollment status, and payment status.

  1. Open up Firefox or Chrome (preferred browsers)
  2. Type in the URL io.geniussis.com
  3. Click the Login tab

Launch Your Course

Launch your course(s) by clicking ‘Launch’ on the course tile.

Genius Dashboard

The dashboard displays all of your courses and provides you with a quick overview of completion progress as well as access to your courses.

Course Card

View the Course Title, Teacher Name, and Course Dates. The current course grade can be found at the top of the course card.

Course Pacing

You can view your pacing in the course by referring to the bar graph on the course card.

  • ‘Actual’ shows the number of assignments you have submitted out of the total number of assignments available in the course.
  • ‘Expected’ shows the number of assignments you are expected to have submitted out of the total available to stay on pace with the course in real-time.

View Activity & Course Requests

Current enrollments and minutes active in each course can be found in the Activity card. Course requests will be listed in the Course Requests card with the current status listed under the Approved column.

Update Your Personal Information if Needed

  1. Login to your Genius account and view your Dashboard.
  2. Click ‘Student Information’.
  3. Change your personal information.
  4. Click ‘Save’.

Change Your Password

  1. Click ‘Edit Account’.
  2. Change your password information.
  3. Click ‘Change Password’ to save it.

Logging into Genius

Guardians will be able to log in and view their student(s) grades and progress as well as pay for courses. Guardian accounts are created when a student account is created. Upon completion of the new student account, the guardian will receive an automated email with the guardian login and a link to reset the password. If you do not receive this email, submit a helpdesk ticket with your login included.

Genius Dashboard

The Dashboard displays your student’s course(s) and provides you with a quick overview of completion progress. You can also view course requests, if applicable.

Selecting and Adding Students

After logging in, guardian accounts linked to more than one student can click the dropdown arrow next to the student name and select which student you wish to view. You can create a new student account by selecting ‘Create New Application’.

Course Registration

Guardians are able to request a new course. Please do not request a course if your student has already done so. Course requests can be viewed in your parent/guardian account.

  1. Click ‘Request Course’ in the navigation menu.
  2. Click ‘Request New Course’.
  3. Select the appropriate term, course name, and start date.
  4. Click ‘Save’.

Once the course has been requested, an automated notification will be sent to the student’s school counselor.

Course Payment

You will not be able to make a course payment until the course has been approved by the student’s school counselor. Once the course has been approved and you are ready to make a payment:

  1. Click ‘Make Payment’ in the navigation menu.
  2. Select the course(s) for payment.
  3. Enter payment information.
  4. Click ‘Submit’.

**If needed, refunds will be issued within 7-10 business days.
